A quality damask is made of 100% pure cotton and has been known since ancient times. It was originally manufactured in Damascus (Syria) in the European Middle Ages. The crusaders who went through Damascus brought him to Europe in the 11th century.

It is characterized by stylized weaving, consisting of interwoven mats of threads and shiny threads that make it one of the most durable materials.
